Welcome back to Marijuana Monday! Unfortunately, the news today isn’t as uplifting as our usually scheduled blog posts.

In Illinois, some marijuana dispensaries have been forced to halt recreational weed sales over the weekend. They plan to stay closed this week too. It’s not because of the government or law enforcement, but for the fact that there is no weed to be sold!

On Wednesday, Illinois started it’s legal weed sales. On the first day, consumers spent close to $3.2 million. Interestingly, this was one of the most lucrative kick offs in the history of this country regaining pot legalization.

Dispensary owners are quoted saying that they “knew [they] were going to run out. It was a matter of when, not if.”

I ask that you take a moment and raise a joint, bowl, blunt, or whatever smoking utensil you use to the people in the great state of Illinois. May their supply be replenished.
